We are proud to have received so many wonderful submissions from many talented artists, making the selection process very difficult. When I see the mountains...
We invite you to join us for the annual Visions of Idaho Community Art Contest, proudly presented by the Salmon Arts Council. Our event celebrates the diversity of our community through various art forms. Entry into the contest is free, and each category boasts prizes. As an art enthusiast, you will relish the opportunity to connect with other artists and experience the joy of creativity. Selected artworks will be displayed at the Salmon Library from February 5th-14th, and judges, as well as the general public, can vote for their preferred pieces. Don't miss out on showcasing your talent and exploring the wide array of art created in our community. This year's theme is "when I see the mountains’ - The majestic Beaverhead and Lemhi Mountain Ranges stand watch over us, shaping our daily lives, and providing a sanctuary that we call home. We encourage you to draw inspiration from these mountains and create artwork that captures the essence of their allure and the call they have on our lives.
Artists are limited to a single entry. The prompt for the contest is "When I see the mountains..."
The Rules
Who's Eligible
All Lemhi Valley residents divided by age groups: 6-12, 13-18 and 19+
What are the Prize Categories
Visual and Literary in each age group. Each age group in each category will have a prize from The Judges and a People’s Choice.
Art must be an original piece created between now and the submission date
Art must be either Visual (painting, drawing, fiber work, jewelry, lithograph, sculpture. Please no photography. Or Literary (story, poem, reflective essay, screen play, prose).
Prizes will be awarded for each category in each age group
Art must be submitted at the Salmon Public Library between Feb 1st-2nd 3-5:30pm or Feb 3rd between 10-2pm
Art will be publicly displayed from Feb 5th-14th at the Salmon Public Library
Art must be picked up Feb 17th between 10am-2pm or Feb 19-20th between 3pm-5:30pm
Artist must sign a waiver liability at time of drop off
Winners will be announced Feb 23rd
By entering the Contest, the Salmon Arts Council is granted the rights to utilize photos of the artwork for promotional purposes.
